Well, now that the Oscars over, its time to go back and recap this years winners.
Id first like to say that I went 3/6 in the main categories, which, could have been better but oh well..
Best picture, obviously No Country For Old Men, I called that since I saw the movie.
Best Actor, my unborn child could have guessed that Daniel Day Lewis would win
Best supporting actor rightfully went to Javier Bardem, who had an excellent performance as Anton Chigurh in No Country.
...Now heres where it gets tricky
Best Actress and supporting actress were probably the 2 biggest upsets of the night.
Marion Cotillard for La Vie En Rose won best actress, but honestly I think less people saw that movie than Norbit (which I think might be the first movie ever to get nominated for an Academy Award and a Razzie in the same year)
and best supporting actress was Tilda Swinton for Michael Clayton. Her performance in this was worth winning just was completely unexpected over Cate Blanchett's Bob Dylan in Im Not There.
The last of the main 6 categories was best director, which could have been any of the nominees and even could have been Tim Burton for Sweeney Todd even though he got "robbed" out of a nomination.
I put my guess on Paul Thomas Anderson because of how nice There Will Be Blood moved along and how much work he but into the film, but the Coen Brothers also were very deserving and I have to say No Country for Old Men was a better movie.
Also, to many peoples dismay, including my own, Transformers did not win a single one of the 3 categories is was nominated for. soooo...sorry Michael Bay just make Transformers 2 better.

Ok, I'll comment since no one else has. I expected better than 3 of 6 from a Film major! Tilda was great in Michael Clayton. The last scene when Clooney confronts her in the lobby is killer. But since I didn't see the Dylan movie its not fair to choose. As for director, I agree, many good choices. An who even saw the french movie??...it didn't even come to the arts theater here. I liked the Norbit comment and I will see No Country a few more times if just to see the scene in the gas station with the old man.
